Bachelor’s degree in Education, valid state Teaching license or certification, and 1+ years Teaching experience required. Applicants who do not meet these qualifications will not be considered. Step into an engaging teaching opportunity as a Language Arts instructor, supporting high school students with their English language and literature skills. This contract position begins August 17th and continues through May 28th, offering a consistent schedule of 35 hours per week at a single building conveniently located near Fairbury, IL. As a valued educator, you’ll facilitate comprehensive ELA curriculum, inspire a love of reading and effective communication, and guide students through critical thinking activities. Your school day will run from 7:45 AM to 3:30 PM, allowing for a structured routine and meaningful interaction with your students and colleagues throughout the academic year. Desired Qualifications & Experience Valid teaching license with a certification in General Education for ELA or Language Arts at the high school level Demonstrated knowledge of high school English Language Arts standards (literature, composition, grammar, and critical reading) Ability to create engaging lesson plans that accommodate varied learning styles Strong classroom management skills and positive rapport with adolescents Experience with differentiated instruction and assessment practices Role Responsibilities Deliver a robust ELA curriculum tailored to high school learners Foster a welcoming and academically focused environment Assess, monitor, and report student progress regularly Collaborate with faculty on school initiatives and cross-curricular projects Communicate effectively with students, parents, and staff to support academic goals Experience an opportunity to truly impact students’ abilities in reading, writing, and analysis, all within a supportive school atmosphere.
