Enrichment Kindergarten Teacher (Art & Foundational Learning) – Austin, TX Work Location: In-person at students’ homes or local meeting spots (library, school, etc.) in Austin, TX (78746 area) Job Type: Contract (1099) Pay: $40.00 – $80.00 per hour Job Description: Thrive Tutoring is seeking a creative, engaging, and nurturing Kindergarten/1st Grade Enrichment Teacher to work with early elementary students in the Austin area. This role is ideal for an educator who loves incorporating art, creativity, and hands-on learning into foundational academic instruction. We are looking for someone who can bring early literacy, numeracy, and social-emotional learning to life through fun, interactive, and developmentally appropriate lessons . The ideal candidate is passionate about early childhood education and thrives in a one-on-one or small-group setting. Key Responsibilities: Design and deliver engaging, art-integrated lessons that support early literacy, math, and foundational skills Assess each student’s current abilities and tailor lessons to meet their individual needs Incorporate creative, hands-on activities to build confidence and a love of learning Foster a positive, encouraging environment that supports social-emotional growth Travel to students’ homes or agreed-upon locations in the Austin area (78746 and surrounding neighborhoods) Maintain clear, professional communication with families and the Thrive team Provide brief session notes and ongoing feedback on student progress Collaborate with families to build personalized learning plans and goals Qualifications: Minimum of 2 years of experience in early childhood or elementary education (Kindergarten/1st grade preferred) Strong understanding of early literacy and foundational math skills Experience incorporating art, creativity, or hands-on learning into lessons Ability to create structured yet fun and engaging learning experiences Excellent communication skills and ability to build rapport with young learners and families Background in Montessori, Reggio Emilia, or play-based learning is a plus What We’re Looking For: Creative & Energetic: Brings excitement and imagination into every session Student-Centered: Adapts to each child’s learning style and interests Dependable: Consistent, reliable, and professional Strong Communicator: Keeps families and team members informed and engaged Passionate Educator: Committed to helping young learners build confidence and foundational skills Schedule & Availability: 3–5 hours per week Most sessions take place: Weekday afternoons/evenings (4–8 PM) Sunday afternoons Most students meet 2x per week Work Location: In-person at students’ homes or local meeting spots (library, school, etc.) in Austin, TX (78746 area) Benefits: Flexible schedule Referral program Meaningful, rewarding work with young students If you are a creative early childhood educator who loves blending art with learning , we would love to hear from you!
