Entry-Level Fire Reservists The City of Lewiston Fire Department is excited to open recruitment for Entry-Level Fire Reservists! This is a unique, paid opportunity to launch your path into the fire service, no prior experience or certifications required. Selected candidates will participate in our EMT and Fire Academy, where you'll gain the training and certifications needed to become a Fire Reservist with the department. From day one, you'll be building valuable skills, hands-on experience, and a strong foundation for future career opportunities in fire and emergency services. This program is designed with flexibility in mind, making it ideal for those balancing work, school, or other commitments. Training requires just two evenings per week (6:009:00 PM) and every other weekend (8:00 AM5:00 PM), a manageable schedule with meaningful impact. Salary Information Part time Reserve Firefighter earn over $400 per 24-hour shift, up to 24 shifts per month Full time Firefighter/EMT $64,759.64 $84,496.65/annual base salary* Full time Firefighter/Paramedic $73,209.31 - $92,946.31/annual base salary* *Firefighter positions are hired from our pool of current Reserve Firefighters.
