Overview Join our dynamic team as an Environmental Health and Safety (EHS) Manager Specialist, where you will champion a safe, compliant, and sustainable workplace environment. Duties Lead the development and execution of EHS policies, procedures, and training programs aligned with OSHA (Occupational Safety and Health Administration), EPA (Environmental Protection Agency), and other regulatory standards. Conduct regular safety audits, inspections, and risk assessments across manufacturing facilities to identify hazards and implement corrective actions. Develop, administer, and manage the Company Injury & Illness Prevention Plan. Complete personal protective equipment (PPE) assessments for all areas and manage the selection, purchase, program administration and training for PPE. Ensure that factory emissions comply with local, state, and federal requirements. Develop and maintain targeted safety training programs for employees, supervisors, and managers, including new employee safety orientation. Assist Human Resources in the administration of the WC Program including claims review and Return to Work Program · Train PIERCAN personnel on the proper handling of chemicals, labeling and disposal of hazardous waste. Facilitate emergency response planning by providing first aid training, CPR certification programs, and maintaining first aid kits and safety equipment. Perform root cause analysis on safety incidents to determine underlying issues and recommend preventive measures. Prepare detailed report writing on safety performance metrics, incident investigations, and compliance status for management review. Coordinate training & development initiatives to enhance employee awareness of occupational health practices and safety protocols. Proven experience in manufacturing environments with a strong understanding of OSHA regulations, EPA standards, and occupational health principles. Demonstrated ability to conduct comprehensive report writing, root cause analysis, and safety audits effectively. Knowledge of workers' compensation law procedures and claims management is essential. Certifications in first aid, CPR, OSHA safety standards, or related fields are highly desirable. Working knowledge of CCR Title 8 Subchapter 7. General Industry Safety Orders (Cal/OSHA) Thorough knowledge of NFPA 30: Flammable and Combustible Liquids Code Working knowledge of ISO 9001 Working knowledge of EPA, San Diego County Air Pollution Control District and Hazardous Materials Division regulations Prior experience in training & development related to EHS topics will be considered an asset. Strong communication skills with the ability to clearly articulate safety procedures and compliance requirements at all organizational levels. Bachelor's Degree (B.A. or B.S.) in Occupational Health and Safety, or Industrial Hygiene or related field from four-year college or university and Certificate in Hazardous Materials Management; minimum 1-3 years related industrial experience and/or training in handling chemicals and Industrial Hygiene issues; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
