Our client is a biotechnology research company. They are looking for an EHS Specialist III to join their team. This role is a CONTRACT position. Position will be ONSITE . Candidate must be residing within commutable distance of Hercules, CA in order to be considered for the role. Remote - Must be based in Costa Rica Contract Position Summary: Working with a global team, the Environmental Health & Safety Specialist (EHS) III will support the occupational and environmental health and safety programs for R&D, manufacturing, and distribution activities in northern California. Coordination of onsite occupational safety programs related to lock out / tag out, industrial ergonomics, hazard communication and chemical management, bio-safety, etc. Management of environmental safety programs related to storm water, air quality, chemical storage and management, hazardous waste, etc. Leading onsite safety teams, including emergency response teams and safety committees. Coordinating EHS activities at multiple sites to drive improvements in safety culture and sustainability. Developing and delivering appropriate safety training. Providing support for manufacturing and regulatory departments through process or materials reviews and product safety data sheet development as requested. Leading accident investigations to identify proper corrective actions or solutions. Requirements: Education: Bachelor’s degree in a technical field, including safety and health, engineering, biology, or chemistry Work Experience: 5+ years of work experience in occupational and environmental safety and health Working knowledge of regulatory requirements such as Cal/OSHA and EPA. Experience with local and county regulatory requirements a plus Skills in Microsoft Office Suite including Word, Power Point, Excel, and Outlook The ability to effectively shift priorities and work at a rapid pace is required Experience with SAP and other software such as PowerBI, Docusign, Smartsheets or UL Wercs is a plus Excellent written and oral communication skills Red Oak Technologies is made up of people from a wide variety of backgrounds and lifestyles.
