The ideal candidate will have a strong background in litigation with a focus on environmental law. This is a permanent, full-time position that offers an excellent opportunity to work on high-stakes environmental litigation cases, and to make a significant impact on environmental policy and protection. Responsibilities Provide legal counsel and representation to clients in environmental litigation matters. Conduct thorough and efficient discovery to gather necessary evidence and information. Handle complex civil matters, including those related to environmental regulations and policies. Draft and argue motions in court, utilizing strong motion practice skills. Utilize knowledge of Article 78 proceedings to challenge decisions made by administrative agencies. Collaborate with other attorneys, paralegals, and legal assistants to ensure the best outcome for clients. Stay updated on current environmental laws and regulations, and advise clients accordingly. Develop strategies for handling litigation cases, and represent clients in court. Participate in settlement negotiations, and advocate for the best interests of clients. Conduct legal research and analysis, and prepare legal documents such as briefs and pleadings. Qualifications: Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school. Must be a licensed attorney in good standing with the NY state bar. Minimum of 3-7 years of experience in environmental litigation. Environmental Litigation Experience Experience with Discovery, Memos of law, Affidavits, Article 78 proceedings, and motion practice. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to handle large amounts of information. Excellent written and verbal communication skills. High level of professionalism and ethical standards. Excellent organizational skills, with the ability to manage multiple cases and deadlines simultaneously.
