Serve as the strategic interoperability lead for a healthcare organization transitioning from a legacy EMR platform to Epic Systems, providing guidance on integration architecture, data exchange strategy, and long-term interoperability design. This is a 12-month initial contract, fully remote. Design and oversee enterprise integration solutions leveraging HL7 v2.x, FHIR APIs, REST/SOAP APIs, CCD/CCDA, and Epic interoperability frameworks including Bridges, Interconnect, Care Everywhere, and App Orchard capabilities. Provide deep technical and strategic expertise around Epic data structures, including Clarity and Caboodle data models, to support reporting, downstream integrations, analytics, and operational workflows. Collaborate with application teams, interface engineers, data conversion teams, and third-party vendors to define integration patterns, interface specifications, mapping strategies, and cutover approaches during the EMR transition. Evaluate current-state legacy system integrations and develop future-state interoperability roadmaps that improve scalability, performance, maintainability, and real-time data exchange across the enterprise. Lead interoperability governance and best practices discussions with executive leadership, clinical stakeholders, and technical teams, helping drive architectural decisions, risk mitigation, and successful Epic adoption across the organization.
