We are a mobile equine veterinary dentistry specialty practice based in Topsfield MA.We see routine and referral cases at farms and hospitals throughout New England, primarily in MA, NH, southern ME, RI, and CT.More information about the practice can be found at www.nevds.com We are looking for a stellar veterinary assistant.This is an excellent opportunity for an individual with a strong equine background and exceptional handling skills to learn and be involved with the medical side of equine care.Prior experience as a veterinary assistant is not required but experience working with horses is a must.Opportunity for part time (2-3 days) or full time (4 days) positions will be Monday through Friday working alongside our veterinarians for scheduled ambulatory appointments and outpatient clinic appointments including advanced procedures and standing surgeries.Hourly wage will be commensurate with experience and qualifications, but we offer a competitive wage for this position in addition to significant paid time off.The ideal candidate would:Have an amazing positive attitude, strong work ethic, be very reliable and possess great attention to detail.Positive interaction with clients is a must! Safely handle horses of all sizes and demeanors for veterinary care Restrain and monitor sedated equine patients during routine exams and standing surgical procedures Prepare for and clean/pack up after procedures Manage stocking of practice vehicles and facility Assist with diagnostic imaging Must be able to lift and carry heavy equipment up to 50lbs over occasionally varied terrain Keep instruments and equipment meticulously organized and in good working order Assist with record keeping and digital filing Drive practice vehicle:valid drivers license and a clean driving record is a must! Drivetime can be anywhere from 1-4+hours per day depending on scheduled appointment locations.Music and podcast preferences negotiable!
