Salary : $1,546.40 Biweekly Location : DeLand, FL Job Type: Full-Time Job Number: 24-00674 Department: Public Works Division: Road & Bridge Opening Date: 02/04/2026 Closing Date: Continuous Major Functions The County of Volusia is seeking an Equipment Operator II for the Paving Crew in the Road and Bridge Division. This position will be located in DeLand, FL and will be responsible for semi-skilled and skilled work in the operation of medium and heavy equipment to complete road maintenance and drainage tasks, performing daily safety inspections of assigned equipment prior to and after each use. Note: Must possess a valid Florida CDL Class B at the time of hire and maintain thereafter. Operates 10-wheel commercial trucks. Operate equipment, such as front-end loader, backhoe, skid steer. May operate a distributor applying oils, asphalt, or tars to highway surfaces. May operate roller in patching county roads. Operates truck carrying fuel, lubricants, and lubrication equipment. Performs routine field lubrication of light, medium, and heavy rolling stock and equipment. May operate a flatbed or dump truck. Performs daily safety inspections of assigned equipment prior to and after use. Performs routine service and maintenance of equipment. Participates generally in the laboring work of the crew as workload demands. Attends work on a regular and consistent basis. Responds to emergency situations. Must adh
