Position Overview: We are seeking a skilled and safety-focused Equipment Operator to efficiently handle, transport, and process scrap metal, junk cars, and other materials within our facility. This role requires experience with loaders, teamwork, and a commitment to maintaining a safe and organized work environment. Key Responsibilities: Safely operate equipment, including loaders, forklifts, skid steers , and other machinery to move scrap metal, junk cars, and materials throughout the facility. Transport materials to designated areas for sorting, processing, or disposal in compliance with company procedures. Assist in sorting scrap metal, parts, and other materials, ensuring environmentally responsible handling and processing. Maintain accurate inventory records and ensure proper storage and disposal of all processed materials. Keep the yard clean and organized, removing hazards and debris to maintain a safe work environment. Collaborate with supervisors, team members, and other operators to ensure smooth and efficient facility operations. Periodically report production metrics, such as the number of cars processed, to the manager. Qualifications: Proven experience operating loaders and other heavy equipment. Strong attention to safety and environmental compliance. Ability to work effectively as part of a team. Physical ability to lift and move materials as required. Strong organizational skills and attention to detail. Additional information: Schedule: Monday thought Friday 7:00 AM to 4:00 PM.
