Conducts training programs in the maintenance, proper usage and adherence to safety standards for all vehicles, equipment and tools. Inspects or arranges for the inspection of all fleet vehicles and heavy equipment. Maintains inventory through planning and purchasing and responds to work requests in a timely manner in a Total Maintenance System (TMS). May be required to supervise and direct the work of inmates. Minimum Qualifications Knowledge of repair, maintenance techniques, and shop management. Skill in use of all related hand and power tools and equipment to service and maintain gasoline and diesel vehicles/equipment. Demonstrated ability to establish and maintain a variety of logs and records. Ability to diagnose equipment problems and make repairs. Ability to interpret all related manuals. Additional Considerations Experience in automotive repair dealing with gasoline/diesel powered equipment repair. Prefer skills in the operation of computerized diagnostics/techniques and power tools. Prefer Commercial Driver’s License. Prefer experience utilizing TMS System.
