POSITION SUMMARY The Equipment Specialist (Supply) will provide technical support for marine equipment, machinery, Coast Guard parts, and shipboard HM&E and ELEX systems. The role supports equipment design, procurement, maintenance, modification, repair, and sustainment activities for Coast Guard vessels. This position requires initiative, sound judgment, and originality in evaluating technical issues, developing procurement documentation, coordinating with stakeholders, and presenting practical recommendations that support fleet readiness and contract execution. DUTIES Apply technical knowledge of marine equipment and machinery to support design, procurement, maintenance, modification, and repair efforts. Assist in developing technical specifications for equipment installed on Coast Guard vessels. Identify HM&E and ELEX components, materials, and packaging requirements to support parts and equipment decisions. Recommend disposition of frustrated materials to item managers based on technical condition and requirements. Support procurement planning by preparing draft statements of work, justifications, product specifications, purchase descriptions, and repair descriptions for review and approval. Conduct market research, market surveys, and data gathering to support procurement and technical decisions. Provide technical support to Product Line engineers in contract administration. Coordinate with internal personnel, contractors, vendors, and external organizations to resolve technical and procurement-related issues. Review vendor data, capabilities, and documentation to verify compliance with applicable ANSI and ISO 9000 requirements. Support vendor performance evaluations, technical meetings, and maintenance of the engineering technical library. Use local and remote workstations, network systems, and installed software to perform assigned duties. REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS 3 to 10 years of relevant experience supporting marine equipment, shipboard systems, HM&E or ELEX equipment, maintenance, repair, procurement, technical documentation, or federal/military sustainment programs. Experience identifying equipment components, materials, packaging requirements, or technical support needs. Experience preparing or reviewing technical specifications, repair descriptions, purchase descriptions, or procurement support documentation. Proficiency with Microsoft Office and experience using computer networks, databases, technical libraries, or logistics/support systems. Strong technical writing, communication, coordination, analytical, and attention-to-detail skills. EDUCATION High school diploma or GED. PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS Associate degree or technical certification in marine engineering technology, mechanical systems, electrical/electronics technology, logistics, maintenance management, or a related field. Experience supporting USCG, Navy, DoW, ship repair, marine maintenance, or federal procurement programs. Familiarity with ANSI, ISO 9000, vendor data review, market research, contract administration support, and Product Line engineering processes.
