Job description Paralegal Position Winkler Legal, LLC Columbus, Ohio Job Description Seeking a Paralegal with at least two years of experience in elder law planning. Probate administration is a plus, but not required. This position will be working directly with clients and entails working with the attorney on Medicaid planning strategies, drafting and reviewing legal documents. This position will report directly to the managing attorney. This is a full-time position with one remote day weekly. Looking for a candidate for the long-term. Paralegal Responsibilities Manage Medicaid and asset protection estate planning case load Prepare legal documents, correspondence, and other documents Meet with clients and conduct signing and planning meetings File pleadings and other legal documents with the Court as necessary Utilize firm's customer relationship management system (Lawmatics) Proofread and edit estate planning documents (Wills, Powers of Attorney, etc.) Draft Medicaid appeals memoranda Research legal issues assigned Organize and prioritize caseload and deadlines Regularly provide the attorney case status and updates Answer client calls and interacts with the public Notarize legal documents and conduct client estate signing meetings Paralegal Requirements: Must enjoy working with the public Consistent, professional dress and manner (business casual) Excellent written and verbal communication skills Competency in Microsoft applications including Word, Excel, and Powerpoint Time management skills Attention to detail Must possess excellent organizational case management skills Must be a team player Familiar with law practice management software Benefit Conditions: A waiting period of 90 day probationary period applies to eligibility for Company Simple IRA retirement (4% match); Vision and HSA contributions.
