Estate Planning & Probate Attorney, Early-Career Brightside is hiring an Estate Planning & Probate Attorney, Early-Career, to join our estate planning and probate team. This role is designed for an attorney with 1 to 3 years of legal experience who wants to build real competence in estate planning and probate through structured training, meaningful client work, and close collaboration with experienced attorneys and paralegals. Great candidates could include newly admitted attorneys with substantive internship or externship experience, career changers with professional exposure to estate planning and probate, attorneys coming from small firm or general practice backgrounds, or attorneys with related experience who are ready to focus their practice in this area. This is a client-facing role. You will interact directly with clients early in your time at Brightside, and you should enjoy meeting people, building trust, and communicating with warmth and professionalism. You will learn how matters are handled from intake through completion. Early on, your focus will be on drafting, issue spotting, client follow-up, and executing within the firm’s systems. As your skills develop, you will take on greater responsibility for client communication, matter management, and substantive legal work. This role is best suited for someone who values structure, welcomes feedback, communicates clearly, and wants to build a long-term foundation in estate planning, probate, and client service. The ideal candidate is personable, positive, and comfortable working closely with both clients and team members. Responsibilities Draft core estate planning documents, including wills, revocable trusts, powers of attorney, advance directives, and related documents Assist with probate and estate administration matters from intake through closing Prepare for and participate in client meetings, signing meetings, and follow-up communication Communicate clearly, warmly, and professionally with clients Identify issues, questions, and next steps in active matters Follow and help refine internal workflows, templates, and checklists Work closely with experienced paralegals, law clerks, and attorneys as part of a coordinated legal team Develop toward more advanced planning work, including irrevocable trusts, tax-sensitive planning, and more complex estate and probate matters Qualifications Admitted to the Georgia Bar and in good standing 1 to 3 years of legal experience Estate planning, probate, elder law, fiduciary administration, or related experience preferred Strong writing skills and careful attention to detail Personable, positive, and comfortable in a client-facing role Enjoys meeting people and building long-term client relationships Ability to follow structured processes without shortcuts Coachable, responsive to feedback, and willing to learn Comfortable working in a team-oriented, process-driven environment Candidates must be admitted to the Georgia Bar and in good standing. We are always happy to hear from candidates pending Georgia admission (and we wish them luck!), but this role is for an attorney who is admitted and able to practice. Compensation and Benefits Compensation is expected to be in the range of $80,000 to $105,000 per year, depending on experience. In addition to base compensation, the role includes opportunities for individual and firm-based performance compensation as the attorney develops and contributes to the firm’s growth.
