POSITION TITLE: Estimator or Senior Estimator SPECIFICATION NUMBER :697841CRI LOCATION: Parsippany, New Jersey COMPENSATION: $120,000 - $200,000 (Based on experience and Market Rate) Bonus COMPANY :Our client is a leader in Heavy Civil Construction. COMPANY PROJECTS SAMPLES Earthwork / Sitework Sitework Construction Water Distribution Systems Wastewater Management Storm Water Management Road Construction Site Pavement Utility Work:Sanitary, Storm and Water Main POSITION SUMMARY AND RESPONSIBILITIES Position will report to a Vice President Strong ability to read plan drawings, conceptualize the job, and provide detailed take off quantities per the scope of work being bid Ideal candidate must be able to analyze plan drawings and present management with alternative means/methods for building a job in order to bid the job most effectively Communicate with subs and vendors for best pricing for materials Input take off quantities into estimating software and develop a bid package Experience with B2W software & Agtek is a plus, but not required Evaluating the scope of projects and developing a financial summary that stays within the budget and scheduled time frame required. Work closely with designers and engineers to create these estimates. Involved in day-to-day preparation of plan take-offs, weekly bid schedule and preparation of all price breakdowns for management approval. Participate in preparing work to be estimated by gathering proposals, blueprints, specifications, and related documents. Interface daily with senior management to build estimates and seek new bid opportunities. Complete estimates on time and complete in form for final review. Ability to follow all project specifications and standards to secure estimate accuracy. Ability to interface with all vendors and negotiate the best price outcome for the estimate and out proposal. Attending any required site visits and meetings needed prior to bid submission. Attending all management meetings to meet productivity. Assist in meeting the goals of bid cost vs actual job cost and work with the team to meet job margins. Maintain the estimating computer system and paper backup system for management to review. Verify that vendor and subcontractor estimates fall within the defined scope. Create estimates for all necessary insurance considerations. Maintain client confidentiality. DESIRED SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE Minimum of 5 to10 years' prior experience as a construction estimator and general contractor Familiarity with construction practices, costs, and procedures. Experience with vendor management, procurement, and construction management. Ability to work with B2W, Excel, Agtek and Microsoft Project is a plus, but not required Experienced NJ State and Local Agencies and all different aspects of heavy construction such as Sitework, Utility Installations and Paving. Bachelor's degree in engineering, Construction Management preferred, but not required.
