Duties Prepare detailed cost estimates for construction projects by analyzing blueprints, specifications, and project scope documents using tools like Bluebeam and HeavyBid. Collaborate with project managers, clients, subcontractors, and suppliers to gather accurate pricing data and negotiate favorable terms. Develop comprehensive bid proposals that include labor, materials, equipment costs, and contingency allowances while ensuring competitiveness. Conduct thorough quantity takeoffs from construction drawings to determine material quantities and labor requirements. Monitor project budgets during bidding phases to ensure estimates align with project financial goals and cost control standards. Assist in reviewing contracts and scope of work documents to identify potential risks or cost-saving opportunities. Support project management teams by providing accurate estimates that facilitate effective project planning and scheduling. Experience Proven experience in construction estimating with a strong understanding of construction management processes. Proficiency in estimating software such as HeavyBid or similar platforms; experience with Bluebeam is highly desirable. Solid knowledge of construction site operations, contracts, and cost control methodologies. Demonstrated ability to negotiate effectively with vendors, subcontractors, and clients to secure optimal pricing. Hands-on experience with construction site activities enhances accuracy in estimating and understanding project complexities. Familiarity with project management principles ensures estimates are aligned with overall project timelines and objectives.
