Estimator

Estimator TW Constructors (TWC) is seeking a Commercial Construction Estimator for a full-time position in St. Louis, Mo. The role involves working within the estimation and bidding process, calculating the projected time frame needed to complete a project, and additional factors like labor needs, materials, budgets, and potential setbacks. Estimators will use computer construction programs necessary to accomplish these tasks and communicate with personnel, contractual professionals, and vendors. Responsibilities include Effectively influence, negotiate, and communicate with owners, architects, engineers, subcontractors, suppliers and co-workers Actively contribute to the project schedule and close-out process Determining what factors of production will influence the cost of a service or product Creating labor estimates for any project Managing bids from vendors and contractors Presenting prepared estimates to management and other stakeholders Compiling and recording actual costs Using bid data to prepare detailed a cost analysis Developing and maintaining relationships with company vendors and contractors Preparing material estimates and cost estimates for the product or service Analyzing requirement documents, blueprints, and project plans to gain a thorough understanding of the project Our projects are nationwide - Travel may be required Qualifications include: Bachelor's Degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or related field of study 3-5 years of experience in commercial project estimating and/or management Design-Build experience is ideal Ability to interpret blueprints Significant knowledge of construction methods as well as an understanding of municipalities and the permit processes Ability to manage subcontractors and vendors Estimating and project management experience in the commercial industrial construction industry Knowledge and understanding of building construction combined with steel design concepts presented on architectural and engineering drawings Ability to understand construction drawings and specifications Ability to prepare proposals with minimum supervision Candidates must have a strong understanding of conceptual estimating, estimating techniques and cost control Strong written and verbal communication skills Knowledge of on-screen estimating software, Microsoft Office Suite, Procore, etc. Must be able to multitask and prioritize responsibilities Procore Certified or knowledge and skill in Procore We are a drug free work place, must be able to pass pre and random drug tests Self-motivated and able to lead and motivate team members Thoughtful and confident decision making skills with high ethical standards Good verbal and written communication skills Good interpersonal skills and a high level of professionalism Problem solving skills and the ability to think and react quickly under pressure Service-oriented approach in working with owners, co-workers, and any joint venture partners Strong attention to detail and high level of organization Reliable, dependable and professional with a strong sense of urgency Join our fast-growing team and be part of a supportive, collaborative environment.
