As a Business Development Manager, your primary focus is to gain and increase new business sales for conferences, meetings and events including event production, digital and creative services, incentives and reward and recognition programs at a profitable level for the company. What you will be doing: Lead and execute business development initiatives in alignment with the brand’s strategic pillars and overarching sales objectives. Identify, pursue, and secure new business opportunities across the full suite of FCM Meetings and Events services. Drive profitable sales growth from new prospect clients, ensuring all business meets or exceeds minimum margin requirements. Build and manage a robust and accurate sales pipeline that supports revenue and growth targets. Ensure high conversion rates through strategic lead qualification, timely follow-up, and effective client engagement. Collaborate closely with events, customer solutions, production, and creative teams to develop tailored, high-impact and winning proposals and presentations, including the preparation of detailed event/conference budgets. Ensure all pitch responses clearly articulate FCM Meetings and Events brand standards, customer value proposition, and market positioning, and that submissions are complete, persuasive, and meet all deadlines. Develop and maintain comprehensive client service plans, ensuring regular and strategic client engagement to foster loyalty and identify upsell opportunities. Actively communicate and collaborate with Flight Centre Travel Groups internal stakeholders, including the broader FCM Meetings and Events team, to align on sales strategies and share insights into client needs and market shifts. Leverage internal networks across the business to generate leads, uncover cross-sell opportunities, and support broader business acquisition goals Represent FCM Meetings & Events at industry events, trade shows, networking functions, and client meetings to enhance brand visibility and build strategic relationships. Monitor and analyse industry trends, competitor activity, and market intelligence to inform and refine sales strategy and customer engagement approaches. Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of sales activity, pipeline status, and client communications using relevant CRM systems Demonstrate and uphold FCTG’s philosophies consistently in all actions and interactions.
