The Opportunity We are seeking an experienced and hospitality-driven Event Manager to support the planning and execution of private dining experiences and special events within our restaurant. This role requires an individual who understands that events in a fine dining environment are an extension of the restaurant’s culinary philosophy and service culture. The Event Manager serves as the primary liaison between clients and the restaurant, translating each guest’s vision into a seamless and refined experience while upholding the highest standards of hospitality, organization, and operational excellence. The ideal candidate brings a thoughtful, detail-oriented approach to event planning, and thrives in a fast-paced service environment where collaboration, communication, and problem-solving are essential. Essential Duties & Responsibilities Client Relations & Event Planning Serve as the primary point of contact for private dining and special event clients from initial inquiry through post-event follow-up Guide clients through the planning process with professionalism, warmth, and deep knowledge of the restaurant’s culinary and service offerings Collaborate with the culinary team to curate menus that reflect seasonal ingredients and the restaurant’s culinary philosophy Conduct site visits, walkthroughs, and planning meetings with clients to ensure clarity of expectations and event logistics Prepare detailed banquet order forms, floor plans, and timelines to ensure flawless communication with all operational teams Assist Events Director with closing the menu and F&B selection for events <$5k Hardware purchases as needed Operational Planning & execution Lead processing as needed Assist Events Director with sales process, and upsell opportunities Audit all charges and ensure contractual obligations are met in timely manner Translate client vision into detailed operational plans that align with the restaurant’s service style and standards Coordinate event staffing requirements with restaurant leadership Communicate with front and back of house for any event set up needs/changes Manage relationships with external vendors including rentals, floral designers, photographers, and production teams when applicable Ensure event spaces are prepared to the highest standards, including layout execution, equipment readiness, and aesthetic presentation Oversee the strategic allocation of tables and dining areas within the reservation platform to ensure optimal guest placement when regular reservations are happening simultaneously Resolve operational challenges gracefully and efficiently while maintaining a calm and composed presence on the floor Post-Event Responsibilities Conduct post-event follow-up with clients to gather feedback and maintain strong client relationships, and send thank you note to guest Lead internal event recaps with management and culinary teams to evaluate execution and identify opportunities for refinement Required Skills & AbilitiesExperience Minimum 3 years of experience managing events within a restaurant, hospitality venue, luxury hotel, or catering environment Experience in fine dining or high-end hospitality strongly preferred Demonstrated ability to manage client relationships while overseeing complex event logistics Skills & Competencies Exceptional organizational skills and meticulous attention to detail Strong interpersonal and communication skills with a natural ability to build client relationships Deep understanding of restaurant service flow and event operations Ability to anticipate guest needs and solve problems proactively Calm and confident leadership presence during events Strong time management and ability to manage multiple events simultaneously Working Conditions & Physical Requirements Reasonable accommodations may be made for qualified individuals. Flexible schedule required, including nights, weekends, and holidays based on business needs and event operations. Travel between San Francisco locations as needed.
