Monday-Friday 6:00pm-3:00am About the Role: The Environmental Services (EVS) professional plays a critical role in maintaining cleanliness, safety, and sanitation within healthcare and other institutional settings across the United States. This position ensures that all patient care areas, public spaces, and support areas are thoroughly cleaned and disinfected to prevent the spread of infections and promote a healthy environment. The EVS team member collaborates closely with clinical and administrative staff to adhere to established protocols and regulatory standards. By effectively managing cleaning supplies and equipment, the EVS professional contributes to operational efficiency and sustainability efforts. Ultimately, this role supports the overall mission of providing a safe, welcoming, and hygienic environment for patients, visitors, and staff alike. Minimum Qualifications: High school diploma or equivalent. Previous experience in environmental services, janitorial work, or a related field preferred but not required. Ability to follow detailed instructions and adhere to safety and infection control protocols. Physical capability to perform cleaning tasks, including lifting, bending, and standing for extended periods. Basic communication skills to interact effectively with team members and supervisors. Preferred Qualifications: Certification in environmental services or infection control (e.g., Certified Environmental Services Technician). Experience working in a healthcare or hospital environment. Familiarity with the use of hospital-grade disinfectants and cleaning equipment. Training in hazardous materials handling and waste disposal. Strong organizational skills and the ability to work independently or as part of a team. Responsibilities: Perform routine and deep cleaning of patient rooms, operating rooms, waiting areas, restrooms, and other designated spaces using appropriate cleaning agents and equipment. Follow infection control protocols and safety guidelines to minimize the risk of contamination and ensure compliance with healthcare regulations. Manage inventory of cleaning supplies and report any maintenance issues or safety hazards to the appropriate personnel promptly. Collaborate with healthcare staff to coordinate cleaning schedules that minimize disruption to patient care and facility operations. Document cleaning activities and maintain accurate records to support quality assurance and regulatory compliance. Skills: The required skills enable the EVS professional to perform cleaning and sanitation tasks efficiently while maintaining compliance with health and safety standards.
