The Team You’ll Work With: The Mayor’s Press Office at City Hall is responsible for media monitoring, responding to media inquiries, preparing senior administration officials for media interviews, and planning media events designed to communicate accurate, timely information to the public. The Problems You’ll Solve Equal parts free and paid media and marketing, this role manages the administration's relationships with ethnic and community media partners while owning the full paid and free city media placement operation. The Executive Director functions as the administration's media marketing strategist - responsible for where and how much the city spends to reach diverse communities across NYC. Core Responsibilities Owns relationships with all contracted media placement vendors and translation services. Coordinates paid media placement, spend tracking, and campaign performance. Collects and analyzes performance and fiscal metrics across campaigns. Produces the Annual Advertising Spend Report at the end of the fiscal year. Partners with the Office of Mass Engagement (OME) on community engagement initiatives. Supports the Digital & Creative Comms team on creative campaign oversight, as needed. Responsibilities: Paid Media. o Manage data intake, analysis, write-up, and final production of the Annual Advertising Spend Report at the end of the fiscal year. o Own relationships with all contracted media placement vendors and translation services. o Manage paid media placement, spend tracking, and campaign performance. o Collect and analyze performance and fiscal metrics across campaigns. Free City Media. o Serve as the internal "media placement vendor" for free city media. o Own relationships with translation services and vendors offering free city marketing placements. o Collect and analyze QR code engagement performance. Constituent Media & Misc. o Maintain expertise in NYC neighborhood demographics and constituent and ethnic enclave publications and platforms. o Partner with the Office of Mass Engagement (OME) on community engagement initiatives. o Support the Comms dept on creative campaign oversight, as needed. About You You are comfortable working with data across spreadsheet tools (Excel, internal portals) compiling, organizing, and presenting campaign and fiscal metrics. You have experience in press, communications, or media relations. You are familiar with paid media planning and placement. Preferred Skills Hybrid press and marketing role responsible for the administration's relationships with ethnic and community media partners across NYC.
