Executive Director of Finance About the Company Mission-led organization advancing professional local government management programs Industry Non-profit Organization Management Type Non Profit About the Role The Company is seeking a Finance Executive Director to serve as a strategic thought partner and play a critical role in the financial and operational decision-making of the organization. The successful candidate will be hands-on and responsible for the accounting operations, including the production of financial reports, maintenance of accounting records, and the establishment of controls and budgets to ensure compliance with financial standards. This role involves supervising the finance staff, updating financial policies and procedures, and managing a wide range of financial activities such as general ledger preparation, and financial reporting, and year-end audit preparation. The Finance Executive Director will also be tasked with presenting financials to the Executive Team and supporting the mission, vision, and values of the organization. Applicants for the Finance Executive Director position at the company should have a Bachelor's degree in finance or accounting, with a preference for a CPA or MBA. A minimum of 8 years' professional experience is required, with at least 6 years in broad financial and operations management. The ideal candidate will have a solid background in forecasting, budget development, and analysis, as well as experience in coordinating audit activities and managing various financial functions. While not mandatory, non-profit experience is a plus.
