Job Description: Full Time, Exempt We are a for-profit provider of Home and Community-Based Services (HCBS) under the Developmental Disabilities waiver. We empower adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities to live independently in their own homes and thrive as active members of the community. We’re seeking a driven, strategic, and mission-focused Executive Director to lead our Supported Living Services (SLS) program through all phases of growth. Position Overview The Executive Director will be the key operator responsible for the overall leadership, compliance, quality, and operational success of our SLS program. This role demands both strategic vision and hands-on execution — from launching with a small client base to scaling operations to serve dozens of individuals while maintaining exceptional service quality. Key Responsibilities Program Leadership & Growth Develop and execute strategic plans to expand client services from startup to multi-county scale. Oversee intake, assessment, and onboarding of new clients in compliance with all regional center and HCBS requirements. Build and maintain strong relationships with referral sources, funding agencies, and community partners. Operations & Compliance Ensure all services meet state, federal, and regional center compliance standards. Oversee client service plans, quality assurance processes, and documentation practices. Prepare for and manage licensing, contract monitoring, and program audits. Staff Management Recruit, train, and supervise program managers, field supervisors, and direct support professionals (DSPs). Implement performance metrics, staff retention strategies, and professional development programs. Create and manage an on-call rotation and crisis response system. Financial Management Develop and manage program budgets, ensuring fiscal sustainability while meeting quality standards. Monitor billing, service authorizations, and utilization to maximize program efficiency and revenue. Approve payroll, vendor contracts, and major operational expenditures. Qualifications Bachelor’s degree in Social Services, Human Services, Business Administration, or related field (Master’s preferred). Minimum 2 years of progressive leadership experience in Supported Living HCBS/DD services . Strong knowledge of California DDS, HCBS waiver regulations, and regional center processes. Demonstrated success in scaling Supported Living Services programs, managing budgets, and leading large teams. Excellent organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills. Proven track record in regulatory compliance and audit readiness. Compensation & Benefits Salary Range: $75,000 – $146,000 base, plus performance-based bonuses.
