Position Summary The Exercise Science adjunct teaches courses in the Exercise Science concentration within the Health Science program, preparing and delivering in-person learning activities designed to achieve course outcomes. The adjunct will develop course materials, including syllabi, homework assignments, and content for the Course Management System (CMS). They will evaluate and grade students’ class work, laboratory work, assignments, papers, and examinations, while holding a minimum of two regularly scheduled office hours per week throughout the semester. They must maintain and submit student attendance records, grades, and other required documentation by specified deadlines, as well as prepare and maintain course materials within the Salem College Course Management System for each course taught and communicate with enrolled students through a Salem email account. Additionally, participate in periodic meetings with supervisors, the division, or the College related to teaching responsibilities, as well as training and professional development. Evaluates and grades students’ class work, laboratory work, assignments, papers, and examinations Holds a minimum of two regularly-scheduled office hours per week of classes throughout the semester Maintains and submits student attendance records, grades and other required documentation by specified deadlines Prepares and maintains material on the Salem College Course Management System (CMS), for each course taught Communicates with enrolled students through the use of a Salem email account Participates in periodic meetings with supervisors, division, or College, relative to teaching duties and training and development Required Qualifications Master’s degree or higher in Exercise Science, Exercise Physiology, Kinesiology or related field with at least 18 graduate-level course hours in discipline Prior experience teaching exercise science-related classes at the undergraduate or graduate level as instructor of record; examples include: Exercise Physiology, Biomechanics, Principles of Strength and Conditioning, Introduction to Exercise Science Demonstrated proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, Google Workspace, or equivalent Advanced communication (verbal, written and interpersonal) and organizational skills Sensitivity to respond appropriately to the needs of the community Physical Functions While performing the responsibilities of the course instructor, the employee is required to sit for varying lengths of time; bend, reach, lift, push, and pull up to 25 pounds; occasionally stand, walk, and kneel and regularly ascend/de
