Science Appliance is a locally owned appliance repair company proudly serving Lubbock and the South Plains since 2015. We are currently looking for an experienced Appliance Repair Technician who is ready to step into the field and run service calls independently from day one. This is not an entry-level position. We are looking for someone who already has hands-on appliance repair experience, strong diagnostic ability, and confidence working independently in customers’ homes. Our technicians are trusted to accurately diagnose problems, communicate professionally with customers, and complete repairs the right way—not guess through parts swapping. Position Details Full-time, remote/field-based position Technicians dispatch from home in a company-provided vehicle Typical schedule is Monday–Friday, 9:00 AM – 6:00 PM - Hours may vary depending on daily routing and workload Responsibilities Diagnose and repair residential appliances including washers, dryers, refrigerators, dishwashers, ovens, and other household appliances Experience servicing all major brands of appliances, including Samsung, LG, Whirlpool, GE, Frigidaire Run service calls independently and manage daily workload efficiently Communicate clearly and professionally with customers regarding diagnoses and repair recommendations Research and order appliance parts as needed Complete service documentation through our dispatch system Maintain communication with office staff regarding parts, scheduling, and job status - Maintain a clean, professional service vehicle and organized tools Follow manufacturer procedures and safety guidelinesQualifications Previous appliance repair experience REQUIRED - Must be capable of independently diagnosing and repairing appliances in the field Strong troubleshooting and mechanical skills Professional customer service and communication skills Valid driver’s license with clean driving record Ability to lift 50+ lbs and work in residential environments Must pass background check and drug screening Pay & Benefits Competitive hourly pay plus commission Experienced technicians commonly earn $24–$30+/hr depending on experience and efficiency Company vehicle provided for service calls Stable, year-round work - Supportive family-owned company culture Opportunity to grow with a respected local business Science Appliance has built its reputation on honest repairs, quality workmanship, and strong customer relationships.
