Job Description
Job Summary We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Experienced Access Control Technician to join our growing security installation team. In this role, you will be responsible for installing, maintaining, and troubleshooting access control and related electronic security systems across commercial, industrial, and institutional sites. The ideal candidate has a solid background in low-voltage electronic systems, excellent problem-solving skills, and a commitment to delivering high-quality work and exceptional customer service. Data Link Technology Services (DLTS) is a leading low-voltage and security systems integration contractor based in Chandler, AZ. With over 16 years of experience, we specialize in structured cabling, security, and technology infrastructure for commercial and multi-family projects. Key Responsibilities Install, configure, and program access control systems , including: Card readers Biometric systems Electronic strikes/mag locks Control panels and power supplies Maintain, troubleshoot, and repair existing access control equipment and infrastructure Install and integrate additional security components (CCTV cameras, door hardware, sensors) Read and interpret blueprints, wiring diagrams, schematics, and technical manuals Perform routine system inspections and preventative maintenance Test system functionality and verify performance according to design specifications Provide technical support to clients and train end-users on system operation Ensure all work complies with safety standards, building codes, and manufacturer guidelines Maintain clear documentation of work performed, materials used, and system configurations Collaborate effectively with other technicians, project managers, and general contractors Travel to job sites as required (local or regional) Requirements 3+ years of hands-on experience with access control system installation and service Strong knowledge of access control hardware, cabling, terminations, and software platforms Ability to read construction documents, wiring diagrams, and specifications Familiarity with security-related low-voltage systems, including: Video surveillance (CCTV) Intercom and entry systems Alarm and intrusion detection systems (a plus) Comfortable using power tools, hand tools, testers, and diagnostic equipment Excellent communication and customer service skills Ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks efficiently Must have reliable transportation and a valid driver’s license Willingness to travel as needed OSHA 10/30 certification (preferred but not required) Manufacturer certifications a plus (e.g., Lenel, AMAG, HID, Genetec, Honeywell) Benefits Health Insurance Dental and Vision Insurance Paid Time Off (Vacation & Sick Leave) Opportunities for training and career advancement Supportive team culture and safe work environment Why Join Us?
