Experienced Dental Assistant

As a Dental Assistant, applicants are expected to perform routine dental clinic procedures and record information.Common responsibilities include assisting the dentist in patient treatment, sterilizing equipment and cleaning the clinic.Since you will be using some equipment, a high degree of manual dexterity is needed.You should be comfortable working in a fast-paced environment with minimal supervision.Participating in continuing education classes is an important part of your duties to ensure that you learn the latest diagnostic and treatment techniques to become a better Dental Assistant.Responsibilities:Recommend treatment plans including fillings, crowns and implants.Determine insurance coverage and keep patients informed of financial responsibility.Provide support to dentist and other staff members during treatment (record notes, prepare materials etc.).Sterilize instruments and equipment according to protocols.Perform hands-on tasks in preparation for treatment (e.g.setting up emergency kits, arranging molds and taking X-Rays etc.).Maintain inventory of drugs, supplies and equipment.Assist in cleaning rooms and sterilizing desks.Prepare patient for dental visits (e.g.taking vital signs).Create dental records for each patient and ensure the safekeeping of all related documents.Follow hygiene guidelines, practice proper infection prevention techniques and sterilization methods.Report on patient progress or changes to management or other staff members.Assist dentist during treatment sessions (e.g.monitoring anesthesia, preparing materials).Job Types:Full-time, Part-time, Contract Pay:$22.00 - $24.00 per hour Benefits:Employee discount Paid time off Experience:Chairside assisting:1 year (Required) Dental assisting:1 year (Required) Work Location:In person.
