We are a busy grooming salon in Gainesville, FL looking for an experienced dog & cat bather to join our team part-time. A bather’s responsibilities include Bathing dogs and cats properly based on coat type and skin needs Drying pets safely and efficiently Brushing and de-shedding Cleaning ears and trimming nails and properly and safely expressing anal glands as needed Assisting groomers with prep work Safely handling pets of different sizes and temperaments Maintaining a clean and organized work area Sanitizing tubs, tools, kennels, and stations throughout the day Requirements: Minimum 6 months to 1 year of PROFESSIONAL grooming salon experience Must be comfortable working in a fast-paced environment Must know proper bathing, drying, brushing, and basic handling techniques Must be comfortable independently completing the tasks listed above Must be self-motivated and a self-starter Reliable, punctual, and team-oriented MUST have grooming salon experience — home grooming experience will not be considered Cat handling experience is a plus Schedule: Flexible days and hours Approximately 15–30 hours per week depending on the weekly grooming schedule Base schedule is typically 9:30 AM – 1:30 PM, with opportunity for additional hours based on salon needs and experience Saturdays are required Compensation: $15/hour base pay PLUS $10 bonus per short-haired dog completed start-to-finish independently by the bather This is a great position for someone who wants flexible hours while gaining more hands-on salon experience in a busy environment.
