Experienced Production Apparel Sewer Dehen 1920 — Portland, Oregon Dehen 1920 is seeking an experienced production apparel sewer to join our manufacturing team in Portland, Oregon. This is a hands-on production sewing role for someone with strong industrial sewing experience, attention to detail, and pride in consistent, high-quality work. Responsibilities Sew garments and garment components according to Dehen’s quality standards Operate industrial sewing machines safely, accurately, and efficiently Perform production sewing operations with consistency and attention to detail Work with materials such as wool, cotton, knits, ribbing, leather, and heavyweight textiles Follow sewing instructions, samples, and established production methods Maintain clean stitching, proper seam construction, and consistent workmanship Identify and communicate quality issues during production Work as part of a team to meet production goals Keep work area clean, organized, and safe Required Experience Professional experience as a production apparel sewer Experience operating industrial sewing machines Strong understanding of garment construction and sewing techniques Ability to sew accurately and consistently in a production environment Dependable, punctual, and team-oriented Able to sit, stand, bend, and perform repetitive tasks throughout the workday Preferred Experience Experience with any of the following is a plus: Outerwear, sweaters, workwear, sportswear, or heritage apparel Heavyweight fabrics, wool, knits, or structured garments Single needle, double needle, overlock/serger, coverstitch, walking foot, bartack, buttonhole, or button sew machines Small-batch or high-quality apparel manufacturing Bilingual English/Spanish Bilingual English/Vietnamese Ideal Candidate The ideal candidate is skilled, reliable, detail-oriented, and takes pride in their craft.
