Job Summary Kennedy Roofing & Construction is a fast-growing residential and commercial roofing and storm restoration company based in Moore, Oklahoma. We specialize in roofing, siding, gutters, and full-service insurance claim assistance for homeowners and business owners across Oklahoma and surrounding states. As we continue to scale, we're looking for an experienced Controller to take ownership of our financial operations and partner with leadership to drive the next phase of company growth. Position Summary The Controller will own all accounting and financial reporting functions for Kennedy Roofing & Construction. This role is responsible for the integrity of our financial data, monthly close, cash flow management, job costing, payroll oversight, and financial reporting to ownership. The Controller will work closely with the COO, owner, and operations leadership to deliver accurate, timely financial insights that guide business decisions. This is a high-impact role for an experienced accounting professional who wants to take ownership, build strong systems, and be a true financial partner to a growing company. Key Responsibilities Lead all day-to-day accounting operations, including AP, AR, general ledger, bank reconciliations, and month-end close Prepare accurate and timely monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements (P&L, balance sheet, cash flow) Manage job costing and project profitability tracking across roofing and construction jobs; produce WIP (Work-in-Progress) schedules Oversee payroll processing, commission tracking, and 1099/contractor payments in coordination with operations leadership Manage cash flow forecasting, A/R aging, collections coordination, and vendor payment cycles Maintain QuickBooks and ensure clean integration with AccuLynx and other operational systems Own sales tax filings, insurance audits, workers' comp audits, and coordinate with our CPA for year-end tax preparation Develop, document, and enforce internal controls, accounting policies, and financial procedures Prepare budgets, forecasts, and variance analysis to support strategic planning Partner with the COO and ownership to deliver KPI dashboards, gross margin analysis, and financial insights that support decision-making Supervise and develop accounting/bookkeeping staff as the team grows Support insurance claim documentation, supplement tracking, and lien/collections processes as needed Required Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field 5+ years of progressive accounting experience, with at least 2 years in a Controller, Assistant Controller, or senior accounting role Strong working knowledge of GAAP and full-cycle accounting Advanced proficiency in QuickBooks (Online and/or Desktop) and Microsoft Excel Proven experience with job costing, WIP reporting, and project-based accounting Experience managing payroll, commissions, and multi-state sales tax (preferred) Strong analytical, organizational, and communication skills High integrity, ownership mentality, and ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment Preferred Qualifications Construction, roofing, or storm restoration industry experience (strongly preferred) Experience with AccuLynx, JobNimbus, or other construction CRMs CPA license or active progression toward CPA Experience supporting an organization through rapid growth Familiarity with insurance claims accounting and supplement tracking Experience with Oklahoma mechanic's lien processes and construction collections Compensation & Benefits Annual salary: Depending on experience willing to negotiate $ for the perfect candidate Paid time off Health insurance options Professional development support, including CPA exam/CPE reimbursement consideration Direct seat at the leadership table with real impact on company direction Why Kennedy Roofing & Construction?
