Role Description We are seeking a part-time, remote External Engagement Fellow (Volunteer) to support the organization’s storytelling, digital content production, and external-facing communications strategy. This role will help produce and edit podcast content, develop short-form video content (including TikTok and social media clips), and support broader storytelling efforts that elevate the organization’s mission and leadership. The Fellow will work closely with the Communications Fellow and organizational leadership to identify opportunities for media engagement, coordinate potential interviews, and contribute to the development of blogs and narrative content. This role sits at the intersection of media production, storytelling, and public-facing engagement. This is a volunteer position requiring an estimated commitment of up to 5–8 hours per week with a preferred one-year commitment. Key Responsibilities Support production and editing of podcast episodes and related media content Create and adapt short-form digital content (e.g., TikTok, reels, clips) Collaborate with Communications Fellow on storytelling, blogs, and written content Assist in identifying and coordinating opportunities for leadership media appearances and interviews Help translate organizational work into compelling, accessible narratives across platforms Contribute to the development of external-facing engagement strategies Qualifications Strong interest or experience in digital media, storytelling, podcasting, or content production Familiarity with social media platforms and short-form video content creation Strong writing, communication, and organizational skills Ability to collaborate across teams and manage multiple creative priorities Interest in nonprofit communications, public affairs, media, or social impact work Ability to work independently in a remote environment with attention to detail Passion for social justice, advocacy, and supporting individuals impacted by the criminal-legal system.
