Job Description
JOB The Organization Development & • Effectiveness (OD&E) Technician is the operational backbone of the team, providing crucial administrative and technical support. This role ensures the seamless execution of all OD&E programs by managing logistics, maintaining systems, and processing data, all with a focus on supporting employee growth and organizational efficiency.Please note: This recruitment is for a non-benefitted extra help position.This position will work approximately 20 hours per week with a flexible schedule.Key Responsibilities: Program & • Event LogisticsCoordinate all logistics for training sessions, workshops, and events, including venue booking, catering, audio and visual, and material preparation.Manage participant registration, communications, and tracking.Provide on-site or virtual event support, including setup, registration, and technical troubleshooting.Serve as the main point of contact for vendors, venues, and participants on event days.Data Management & • ReportingMaintain accurate participant records and training data in the Learning Management System (LMS).Process and summarize program evaluation surveys and generate reports on training metrics and budget.Ensure the integrity and confidentiality of all sensitive employee data.Administrative & • Financial SupportAct as the first point of contact for the OD&E office, fielding inquiries.Prepare agendas and notes for meetings.Process purchasing requests, invoices, and expenses in alignment with the departmental budget.Manage the OD&E team’s calendars, schedule meetings, and maintain office supply inventory.Communications & • SystemsDraft and distribute internal communications for OD&E programs.Update and maintain OD&E intranet pages and provide user support for related software (LMS, survey tools, Microsoft Teams).Preferred Skills & Experience: Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and experience with an LMS or HRIS.Superior organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple projects in a fast-paced environment.Excellent written and verbal communication skills.High level of discretion with sensitive and confidential information.Proactive, service-oriented mindset with the ability to work independently.Basic skills in data analysis and surveying.Preferred QualificationsFamiliarity with OD&E concepts (e.g., change management, employee engagement).Experience with data visualization tools (e.g., Power BI, advanced PowerPoint).DEFINITIONUnder immediate (Human Resources Technician I) or general supervision (Human Resources Technician II), performs a variety of responsible paraprofessional, technical, and office administrative functions in support of varied human resources programs and functions; provides assistance with the recruitment, examination, and employee onboarding processes and salary administration, insurance, and benefit programs; provides or facilitates the provision of information on recruitment, testing, benefits, and other human resources programs to candidates for employment, county management and staff, and the general public; and performs related duties as assigned. Duties may involve the human resources program areas of: Personnel, Risk Management, and/or Organizational Development & Effectiveness.SUPERVISION RECEIVED AND EXERCISEDReceives immediate supervision (Human Resources Technician I) or general supervision (Human Resources Technician II) from assigned supervisory or management personnel. Exercises no direct supervision over staff.CLASS CHARACTERISTICSHuman Resources Technician I: This is the entry-level classification in the Human Resources Technician series. Initially under close supervision, incumbents learn and perform routine, confidential administrative support duties related to human resources programs and activities. As experience is gained, assignments become more varied, complex, and difficult; close supervision and frequent review of work lessen as an incumbent demonstrates skill to perform the work independently. Positions at this level usually perform most of the duties required of the positions at the Human Resources Technician II level but are not expected to function at the same skill level and usually exercise less independent discretion and judgment in matters related to work procedures and methods. Work is usually supervised while in progress and fits an established structure or pattern. Exceptions or changes in procedures are explained in detail as they arise.Human Resources Technician II: This is the journey-level classification in the Human Resources Technician series. Positions at this level are distinguished from the Human Resources Technician I level by the performance of the full range of duties as assigned, working independently, and exercising judgment and initiative.
