Company Overview Gansevoort Hotel Group specializes in delivering luxury hotels that blend local neighborhood charm with art, design, technology, and heritage.Our mission is to enhance guest experiences through innovative amenities and modern wellness options, all while respecting hospitality traditions and embracing industry evolution.Summary We are seeking a dedicated Extra House Attendant to join our team at Gansevoort in Meatpacking District.This role is vital in maintaining the cleanliness and comfort of our hotel environment, ensuring every guest enjoys a seamless stay.Join us in creating an urban oasis that reflects our commitment to excellence.This is a union role and the classification is - EXTRA.Responsibilities Primary Functions: To serve as a Gansevoort Hotel Group Brand Ambassador and maintain integrity of brand standards and goals. To uphold and comply with Coyle Standards and Gansevoort Core Values at all times. Establish and maintain standards of a 5 star service. To maintain a high level of service and standards for all guest rooms and public spaces. Cleans rugs, carpets and upholstered furniture using a vacuum cleaner, broom and carpet shampoo machine. Cleans rooms, hallways and restrooms. Washes walls and ceiling, moves furniture's and turn mattress. Cleans windows. Sweeps, mops, scrubs, waxes and polishes floor. Dusts and polishes metalwork. Strips rooms upon request. Collects soiled linen for laundering. Received linen supplies from floor shoots. Maintains housekeeping carts & storage areas. Removes trash collected by room attendants. Great guests in a proper manner following Coyle standards. Walk all assigned floors/public areas at the beginning and end of shift to collect newspaper bags, newspapers, trash, soiled linen, trays, etc. Pickup clean linen and refill the par stock of linen on each floor pantry. Deliver towels, cribs, cots and other items to the guest rooms on requests. Perform duties of room attendant when necessary. Sort linen, stock room attendant closets. Refill the par stock of guest amenities and supplies on each floor pantry. Help the room attendants with the heavy lifting during deep cleaning / spring cleaning of rooms. Clean all public areas in the prescribed manner while following department standard operating procedures. Remove soiled linen and trash from the pool side and other service area and take to appropriate locations in the prescribed manner. Assist Room Attendants with placing bed boards, roll-ways beds, extra bed, sofa beds, etc. Report missing / found articles, damage or merchandise problems to the housekeeping supervisors. Respond at all times in a friendly, helpful manner to guests and other colleagues. Take up any tasks assigned by the supervisors as and when needed. Report to work in required uniform and in adherence with the Hotels Dress Code Policy. Moves banquet furniture and arranges meeting spaces as needed. Operates housekeeping equipment such as:Shampoo machines, pressure washers, wet vacuums, snow blower, etc. Maintains the landscape of the property as needed Inspect and restock guest room minibars according to established standards; accurately record guests consumption using the Micros minibar handheld scanner. Responsible for achieving and exceeding the guest satisfaction score. Deliver and retrieve items to guest rooms. Report deficiencies and/or abnormal activities in the rooms. Complete other assigned tasks as required.Required Skills/Qualifications: High School Diploma or GED. Customer Service Skills and good Communication Skills. Physical mobility and stamina required. Good listening skills. Attention to detail and organizational skills.Excellent time management skills. Ability to multitask and prioritize. Ability to remain calm under pressure. Ability to handle guests' complaints. Neat and clean appearance. Flexible to work schedules to include morning/evenings/night, as well as weekends and holidays. Being a team player and ability to successfully pass on information from one team member to another. Ability to follow instructions. Ability to work independently.Physical Requirements: Must be able to be standing/mobile/stationary for at least 7 hours a day, 35 hours a week. Periodically fast paced strides are required to go from one part of property to other. Must regularly lift/carry/move 50 pounds of force. Must be able to seize, grasp, turn and hold objects with hands. Occasionally kneel, bend, crouch and climb is required.
