Job Description
This position for Northminster Presbyterian Church is responsible for performing and supervising all activities and personnel involved in facility maintenance, preventative maintenance, custodial and security of church property and facilities, and oversight of new construction and capital improvement projects. Position Responsibilities Supervision Supervises custodial team, maintenance, landscaping, and security functions Coordinates daily responsibilities of custodial staff Conducts annual appraisal of facilities staff Supervises maintenance of transportation equipment, i.e., vans, trailer, etc. Supervises preparation and maintenance of buildings and grounds schematic drawings showing location of electrical services, circuit breakers, phone service lines, DSL computer lines, plumbing valves, waste clean outs, grease traps, and controls for alarms, night-lights, irrigation, HVAC, etc. Recruits and supervises volunteers to assist in maintenance of buildings and grounds Mentors and trains facilities staff Maintain staff coverage and recruit temporary and permanent employees or outside contractors as needed to maintain facilities in consultation with the business director and in compliance with personnel policies for hiring Work Responsibilities Facilities: Reviews work orders and plans for their completion including determination of supplies needed, who will perform work, date work will be done, etc. Periodically inventories all supplies and equipment and orders replacements as needed Identifies and schedules all general and preventative needs in areas of grounds, building maintenance, and equipment care Perform and oversee general Maintenance including: -Electrical, plumbing, HVAC Troubleshooting and repairs -Carpentry, Drywall, painting and minor Construction -Equipment maintenance and repairs Performs custodial, maintenance, and security functions when necessary Attends weekly staff meetings; supports and attends monthly Physical Resource and Safety/Security meetings. Monitors budget line items applicable to “Building & Grounds Maintenance”. Maintains records of capital assets (equipment and furnishings) and maintains controls for their proper use and replacement Evaluates and recommend capital improvements and major repairs, with budget approval from Church Administrator, Property Committee and/or Finance Committee Communication —Responsible for informing Church Administrator in a timely manner regarding custodial, maintenance, and security issues Procurement —Obtains and evaluates bids from contractors, subcontractors, service organizations and the like relative to procuring standard supplies, grounds-keeping service, routine maintenance, and minor repairs in cooperation with Church Administrator. Major Maintenance/Acquisition —Assesses and evaluates needs for non-routine maintenance or acquisitions that require major capital expenditures on a continuing basis and reports to Church Administrator and Property Committee chair prior to taking action. Facility Use: Oversee the use of the facilities in conjunction with Office Administration Assistant performing facilities scheduling. Performs other related duties as assigned by Church Administrator or the Lead Pastor. Pay: $43,888.00 - $45,750.00 per year Benefits Health insurance Paid time off Work Location: In person
