Cataldo Ambulance Service is seeking a hands-on Fleet/Operations Technician to support our growing EMS operations throughout the region. This position is responsible for preventative maintenance, minor mechanical repairs, vehicle readiness, supply management, and operational support for our fleet of emergency vehicles and company facilities. The ideal candidate is mechanically inclined, self-motivated, dependable, and thrives in a fast-paced, mission-driven environment where vehicle reliability, inventory readiness, safety, and operational support are critical to patient care. The regular schedule for this position is Monday through Friday from 0700-1530 hours . Due to operational demands, emergency incidents, weather events, or rehab support functions, occasional nights, weekends, overtime, and callback responses may be required. Position Summary: The Facilities Maintenance Technician is responsible for maintaining the overall condition, safety, and operation of Cataldo facilities and or operational locations as assigned. Performs general maintenance, repair of building mechanical systems and equipment. Projects may range from general repairs to supporting larger projects like renovations or site changes as well as operational assistance. Key Responsibilities: Perform routine basic maintenance across multiple disciplines: Mechanical, HVAC, electrical, plumbing, etc. General grounds maintenance, seasonal planning, and snow removal Conduct regular facility inspections and address issues proactively Ensure compliance with safety and accessibility regulations (OSHA, ADA, etc.) Work closely with Operations and Leadership on facility improvements, and/or relocations *May include vehicle swaps and assistance as needed Respond to urgent facility-related issues as needed Manage facility-related inventory and equipment storage Participate in emergency preparedness and safety planning Ability to work safely and independently, pay attention to detail, maintain and develop knowledgeable skills and adhere to safety procedures at all times. Maintains knowledge of and complies with all company policies, procedures, and guidelines at all times. Must maintain a reliable attendance record Completes other duties as requested and assigned Education: High school diploma or GED equivalent. Technical training in a related field a plus Licensure, Certification, Registration: Current valid driver’s license Experience and Skills: Previous hands-on experience in facilities maintenance, building systems, plumbing, carpentry, electrical, security, or other related services preferred Prior work in commercial facilities maintenance preferred Strong mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting skills Prior automotive, fleet, EMS, warehouse, logistics, or maintenance experience preferred Strong communication and organizational skills Comfortable working in a fast-paced environment Familiar with safety codes and building regulations Communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing; ability to understand and carry out verbal and written instructions. Requirements: Must be 18 years of age or older Applicable UDS drug screening Satisfactory background check and MA CORI (Criminal Offender Record Information), verification required annually. Verification of an acceptable motor vehicle driving record, verification required annually. Physical Requirements: Physical Demands & Work Conditions: This job involves regular physical activity, including walking, bending, ladder use, and lifting up to 50 lbs. Work takes place in both indoor and outdoor environments and may include exposure to varying weather conditions, vehicle fluids, mechanical equipment, warehouse environments, and emergency response scenes. Flexibility, professionalism, and a commitment to operational excellence are essential. On-call availability for facility emergencies, including some evenings and weekends on a rotating basis, is required.
