Overview The Facilities Maintenance Technician ensures the safe, efficient, and reliable operation of all building systems within the grocery store.This role supports daily store operations by performing preventive maintenance, troubleshooting equipment issues, and responding quickly to repair needs to maintain a clean, safe, and customer-ready environment.Key Responsibilities Building & Equipment Maintenance Perform routine inspections and preventive maintenance on refrigeration units, HVAC systems, lighting, plumbing, and electrical components.Troubleshoot and repair store equipment such as deli/bakery ovens, meat-department slicers, scales, freezers, coolers, and checkout equipment.Monitor and maintain building automation systems and temperature logs for refrigerated cases.Replace filters, belts, bulbs, ballasts, and other consumable parts.Safety & Compliance Ensure all maintenance activities comply with safety regulations, food-safety standards, and company policies.Respond to emergency maintenance requests (e.g., refrigeration failures, leaks, power issues).Maintain clean and safe work areas, including back-of-house mechanical rooms.Support OSHA, health department, and corporate safety inspections.General Facilities Support Perform minor carpentry, painting, drywall repair, and fixture installation.Documentation & Communication Track inventory of tools, parts, and supplies.Qualifications Experience in building maintenance, facilities, or a related trade (electrical, HVAC, plumbing, refrigeration).Knowledge of commercial refrigeration systems is highly preferred in grocery environments.Ability to read technical manuals, schematics, and safety documentation.Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work independently.Physical ability to lift, climb ladders, and perform hands-on repairs.Job Type:Full-time Pay:$20.00 - $25.00 per hour Expected hours:No less than 40 per week Benefits:Dental insurance Employee discount Health insurance Paid time off Referral program Vision insurance Work Location:In person.
