Farm Assistant

Position Summary The Farm Assistant supports day-to-day farm operations and works closely with the Farm Manager to help maintain productive fields, greenhouses, and harvest operations.This role also involves assisting with volunteer groups and ensuring a safe, welcoming environment for all who visit the farm.Key Responsibilities Assist with planting, cultivating, weeding, and harvesting a variety of crops Support greenhouse operations and seasonal farm projects Help prepare produce for distribution to partner agencies Assist with set-up, coordination, and guidance of volunteer groups Maintain cleanliness and organization of tools, equipment, and work areas Follow all safety and food-handling guidelines Perform other farm-related duties as needed Qualifications Interest in farming, food systems, or nonprofit work (prior farm experience preferred but not required) Ability to perform physical labor in all weather conditions, including lifting, bending, and standing for extended periods Reliable, punctual, and able to work independently or as part of a team Comfortable working with volunteers of all ages and backgrounds Positive attitude and willingness to learn Schedule & Compensation Part-time or full-time (seasonal or year-round, depending on availability) Compensation commensurate with experience Why Work With Us Make a direct impact in the fight against food insecurity Work outdoors in a collaborative, mission-driven environment Be part of a team that values community, compassion, and hard work.
