Job SummaryJoin our farm team as a Farm Hand/Laborer, where your energy and dedication will help cultivate a thriving agricultural environment.This role offers an exciting opportunity to engage in diverse farm activities, from animal husbandry to equipment maintenance, ensuring the smooth operation of our farm.You'll work closely with experienced team members to support sustainable farming practices, care for livestock, and maintain farm infrastructure.This position does require experience driving a semi truck.This paid position is ideal for motivated individuals eager to develop hands-on skills in agriculture and animal care while contributing to a productive and positive farm community.Responsibilities Assist with daily animal husbandry tasks, including feeding, watering, and health monitoring of livestock such as cattle, and pigs Operate heavy machinery and farm equipment safely, including but not limited to tractors, forklifts, semi trucks /trailers, power washer and power tools This position will be responsible for the transportation of pigs 3 - 5 times a week within at 50 mile radius.Perform routine maintenance and repairs on farm machinery and equipment, utilizing welding, hand tools, and basic mechanical skills Support planting, harvesting, and crop cultivation activities using horticultural techniques and growing experience Handle heavy lifting of supplies, feed bags, fencing materials, and other farm-related items efficiently and safely Maintain cleanliness and organization of the farm environment while adhering to safety protocols and strict biosecurity guidelines when transporting piglets.Qualifications Prior experience or leadership roles on a farm or agricultural setting is required Mechanical knowledge related to farm machinery repair and maintenance is highly desirable Experience in animal husbandry and animal handling techniques across various species, including driving a semi truck with piglets or sows.Ability to operate forklifts, heavy equipment, power tools, and hand tools safely and effectively Knowledge of horticulture practices, and general farming techniques Strong physical stamina with the ability to perform heavy lifting and long hours outdoors in varying weather conditions Basic math skills for measurements, calculations related to planting or feed rations Welding skills or certification are a plus for equipment repair projects CDL license preferred but not required Familiarity with livestock management is advantageous Excellent attention to detail in maintaining farm records and safety standards Join us in cultivating growth--both on the farm and within your career--by bringing your passion for agriculture and animal care into a role that values your skills.We're committed to supporting your development through hands-on experience in a vibrant farming environment!
