Job OverviewSpurwink Farm in Cape Elizabeth, Maine, looking to hire a motivated, self starter for full time or part time position, to give daily care to 15-20 boarded horses, nine cattle and small animals overlooking Higgins Beach and Spurwink River.Working most Sundays, Mondays, and Fridays is required, if someone is looking for full time we can be very flexible with other days of the week.Responsibilities Handle animals with care, ensuring their well-being and health.Cleaning stalls and paddocks daily(weather dependent).Making and feeding grain and hay, cleaning and filling waters.Turnout and blanket changes.First aid and medical care, based on experience.Fence building and some property repair.Follow safety protocols while working in various farm environments.Requirements Experience and ability to handle horses safely and effectively is essential.Reliability and own reliable transportation.Experience with harvesting hay or using tractor attachments is a plus.Observation skills of items needing to be repaired or horse injury/illness.Or willing to learn.Willingness to learn new skills related to farming operations.Able to work a short shift on most major holidays We are flexible with personal schedules overall and needing time off.Normal hours are 7:30/8am-3/4pm depending on animal needs daily.We promise your days will never be the same and full of adventures!
