These positions are full-time (8-4:30 M-F), seasonally, from mid-February through early May.Ideal candidates will be available for that entire time period, though we may require fewer workers on staff at the beginning and end of the season than we do at peak season.All workers, including workers who will not be working the entire season, will be expected to attend a paid pre-season safety and performance training session.The Organic Growers Supply branch of Fedco Seeds in Clinton, ME.seeks energetic and cooperative workers for the potato repacking and shipping season! Required Skills:? Ability to work efficiently and pleasantly in a team as well as individually ? Willingness to work in a cold warehouse ? Ability to think critically, in order to work safely and avoid errors ? Enjoy physical labor, and be capable of safely lifting 50 lb bags to shoulder height ? Know your own physical limitations and be able to ask for help when needed ? Familiarity and comfort with using touch screens Responsibilities:? Attend, understand, and implement what you learn from pre-season safety and performance training sessions ? Come to work reliably and on time; reliably communicate to crew leader any changes to schedule ? Accurately and neatly prepare bags for repack ? Maintain awareness of surroundings and help facilitate safe and efficient proceedings in a tight space by following verbal instruction ? Learn and operate all stations on a repack assembly line (rough filling, weighing, stitching, and stacking) ? Keep the work station in good working order, tidied daily and cleaned as needed ? Monitor seed potatoes for quality and customer satisfaction, removing offensive specimens ? Understand and adhere to organic certification requirements as necessary ? Participate in detailed and accurate record-keeping throughout the repack process ? Pick, pack, and ship potato orders efficiently and accurately ? Be flexible and cooperative as we develop our use of barcode scanners ?
