Job Description
We’re hiring Fiber Technicians for full-time 1099 contract work performing fiber installs, service calls, and troubleshooting. This is hands-on field work — not a sit-around job. Most jobs are completed independently, so we’re looking for self-motivated techs who can problem-solve, stay productive, and get the job done without constant supervision. Experience is preferred, but we’re also open to entry-level candidates who are serious about learning the trade, investing in their tools, and building a long-term career in fiber optics. We want go-getters — people who show up, communicate well, work hard, and take pride in clean, professional work. What You’ll Be Doing Fiber installs in homes, apartments, and small commercial properties Running and routing fiber lines through attics, crawl spaces, exterior walls, etc. Drilling, mounting equipment, terminating connections, and bringing services online Troubleshooting issues such as no signal, low light levels, damaged drops, or service interruptions Using ladders and working outdoors in various environments and weather conditions Verifying work quality and ensuring installs are clean and professional Communicating with customers professionally when needed Updating job notes, statuses, and ensuring work orders are properly closed out Requirements Reliable truck, van, or SUV capable of carrying a ladder 28-foot ladder Smartphone/mobile device Basic hand tools Fiber tools and equipment (estimated startup investment around $1,500–$1,750) What Matters Most Ability to work independently without being babysat Strong work ethic and willingness to learn Problem-solving ability and troubleshooting mindset Pride in clean, quality work with no shortcuts Reliability, communication, and professionalism This May Not Be a Fit If: You need step-by-step direction at all times You don’t have reliable transportation or tools You dislike physical labor or working in different environments You’re only looking for temporary or easy work What We Offer Full-time 1099 contract opportunities Consistent workflow and available jobs Opportunity to gain real fiber experience and develop valuable skills Room for advancement for dependable, high-performing techs Pay depends on experience and capability.
