Tasks As part of its expansion into the United States, 3Brain is seeking a full-time Field Application Scientist to join our new facility in Baltimore, MD. This role will be responsible for delivering scientific and technical support to customers across the US, while also managing the operation of a biological laboratory for product demonstrations and hands-on training. Working at the intersection of science, technology, and commercial activities, the Field Application Scientist will collaborate closely with academic and industry laboratories, playing a key role in establishing and expanding 3Brain’s presence in the US market. Key responsibilities Develop and maintain in-depth knowledge of 3Brain’s products, applications, and workflows to provide expert scientific guidance to researchers and technical staff Stay current with relevant scientific literature, including developments related to 3Brain, competing technologies, and the broader field Deliver remote and on-site technical support and scientific consulting, including system installation, user training, troubleshooting, and experimental design support Diagnose and resolve technical and application issues, implementing corrective actions and following through to ensure customer success Proactively engage with customers to gather feedback, monitor satisfaction, and drive adoption of 3Brain solutions Travel up to 30%, primarily within the United States, with occasional international travel Manage the 3Brain applications laboratory in Baltimore to support demonstrations and customer training. Key tasks: Ensure the availability and quality of biological samples (e.g., 2D cultures, spheroids, organoids, ex vivo preparations) derived from animal or human models Organise and lead workshops and live demonstrations to support sales and customer training initiatives Oversee laboratory operations, including equipment maintenance, calibration, and general upkeep Manage inventory and ensure timely replenishment of consumables Design and execute experiments using a variety of biological models (e.g., brain slices, primary cultures, spheroids, organoids) on 3Brain platforms Analyse experimental data, perform statistical analysis, and prepare clear and concise reports Support the sales team through product demonstrations, technical presentations, and participation in customer discussions Represent 3Brain at customer sites, workshops, roadshows, and scientific conferences, both independently and in collaboration with commercial teams Contribute to the development of scientific content, including application notes, posters, publications, and other technical materials Requirements Required Qualifications PhD in Neuroscience, Neurobiology, Biomedical Engineering, Biomedical Sciences, or a related field 2+ years of hands-on experience with neuronal cell cultures, including primary neurons and human iPSC-derived neuronal models Experience in animal dissection (e.g., mouse, rat), including embryonic and postnatal tissue processing for primary cell culture preparation (e.g., neurons, cardiomyocytes) 2+ years of experience working with human and non-human stem cells, including culture maintenance and differentiation workflows Strong background in electrophysiology and familiarity with techniques and instrumentation commonly used in in vitro neurobiology Working knowledge of statistical analysis methods and tools for biological data interpretation Proficiency in a Windows-based computing environment and standard scientific software Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to effectively engage both technical and non-technical audiences Highly motivated, self-directed, and solutions-oriented, with strong problem-solving skills Additional Qualifications 2+ years of hands-on experience with multi electrode array (MEA) technologies, including experimental design, data acquisition, and analy
