We are currently seeking motivated Field Service Engineers (FSEs) to join our growing service team. About the Role The Field Service Engineer is responsible for equipment installation, troubleshooting, maintenance, and customer technical support. This role also includes incoming inspection, assembly, refurbishment, and debugging of returned tools to ensure equipment reliability and customer satisfaction. The ideal candidate is hands-on, detail-oriented, and capable of working both independently and within a team in fast-paced technical environments. Responsibilities Field Support Perform onsite installation, commissioning, and qualification of semiconductor equipment Conduct preventive maintenance (PM) and corrective maintenance at customer sites Troubleshoot mechanical, electrical, and system-level issues Diagnose equipment failures and implement effective repair solutions Support customer operations to ensure maximum equipment uptime Provide technical training and support to customers when required Repair & Refurbishment (RMA Support) Perform incoming inspection of returned tools and components Assemble and refurbish returned equipment Debug and verify system functionality after repair Document repair activities and ensure equipment meets operational standards before shipment Support continuous improvement of repair and refurbishment processes Technical Support Provide remote technical support via email and phone Analyze logs and system data to diagnose issues Develop and follow troubleshooting procedures Communicate effectively with customers and internal teams Maintain detailed service reports and documentation Team & Operational Support Support engineering and sales teams with technical inquiries Participate in internal training programs Follow company safety and quality procedures Support continuous improvement initiatives Qualifications Required Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Mechatronics, or related field Strong hands-on mechanical and electrical troubleshooting skills Ability to read electrical schematics and mechanical drawings Basic knowledge of motors, sensors, and automation systems Willingness to travel to customer sites (up to 50%–70%) Strong problem-solving skills Good written and verbal communication skills Ability to work independently and in team environments Preferred Experience with semiconductor equipment or automation systems Knowledge of robotics, motion control, or PLC systems Experience with vacuum systems or wafer handling equipment Experience with preventive maintenance and troubleshooting Prior field service experience Work Environment Work at customer semiconductor fabs and company repair facilities May require working in cleanroom environments May involve lifting equipment components (up to 40 lbs) Requires adherence to cleanroom and safety protocols Why Join Fortrend Opportunity to work with advanced semiconductor technologies Hands-on technical development and career growth Exposure to global semiconductor customers Collaborative and supportive engineering environment Competitive salary and benefits
