Commercial Finance Analyst Location: New York, NY (Hybrid - 2-3 days in office) We are looking for a detail-oriented and analytical Commercial Finance Analyst to join our Commercial Finance team in New York. This opportunity is ideal for someone early in their finance career who is eager to learn, develop strong financial operations skills, In this role, you will support financial operations and reporting for the VaynerMedia New helping ensure financial processes run smoothly while contributing to budgeting, revenue analysis, and operational finance activities. This role offers strong exposure to commercial finance, financial reporting, and operational Support financial operations and reporting across the New York commercial finance Assist with budget tracking, forecasting support, and financial analysis Analyze budgets, costs, and financial performance metrics Work cross-functionally with Client Services, Project Management, Accounting, and Finance teams Maintain financial data and reporting within tools such as Excel/Google Sheets and ERP systems such as NetSuite, SAP, or Oracle NetSuite 0-2 years of experience in commercial finance, finance, accounting, financial operations, or another finance-oriented role Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, Business, Communications, or a related field Strong Excel or Google Sheets skills Highly organized, highly motivated, goal and detail-oriented self-starter who is looking to jump in and embrace the Commercial Finance team structure and responsibilities. Work with the following Departments to understand business priorities and portfolio-specific financial needs: Financial Operations and cross-functional partnership with Shared Services (A/P and A/R), Accounting, Client Services and Project Management Coordinate with Shared Services & Treasury to follow-up & analyze overdue A/R Responsible for preparing monthly revenue recognition, including coordination with Accounting as part of the monthly closing process Provide support to the Financial Operations Lead throughout the monthly close, including ensuring all monthly invoicing has been completed and tracked to support revenue recognition Participate in project wrap meetings, when applicable, to provide context and ensure projects can be fully closed out (impacts revenue, accounts receivable, accounts payable and WIP releases) Understand and review budgets and scope of works (SOWs) to ensure financial invoicing details and payment terms are accurate Ad hoc projects: budget analysis, agency costs, exposure to forecasting & staff cost tracking 2-4 years of work within an agency or business service environment in a Financial Operations, Client Finance or Accounting Bachelor's degree in Finance or Accounting or related field Ability to demonstrate strong project management skills, including the ability to multitask and prioritize tasks and responsibilities Experience with Netsuite (or a similar commercial ERP required) Experience with NSPB (or similar planning tools) considered a plus Strong working knowledge of MS Excel and Google Sheets (pivot tables and Vlookups will be your best friends).
