This position oversees the Federal Work-Study program, coordinating campus-wide student employment. The advisor works closely with departmental supervisors to post positions, hire students, and manage funding allocations. The Advisor serves one-fifth of student applicants, providing comprehensive guidance on aid programs, HOPE eligibility, and academic progress requirements. The role extends to conducting financial aid presentations at various on-campus and off-campus workshops, offering detailed insights into application processes and program structures. The position requires multitasking abilities, strong initiative, meticulous attention to detail, and a flexible approach to prioritizing tasks. Success requires a positive attitude and a deep commitment to supporting students' financial access to education, aligning with the broader missions of the Financial Aid Office and Enrollment Management Team. Responsibilities Advising - 40 Provide one-on-one support to 20% of all students and their families understand federal, state, and institutional financial aid options. Explain how to apply for and maintain federal aid, state aid, institutional and other aid guiding students through these options via in-person meetings, phone conversations and email correspondence. Delivering timely and personalized assistance. Coordinating - 35 Communicate with campus departments about Federal Work-Study fund allocations. Collaborate with departments and Human Resources on student hiring processes. Create detailed earning reports to: Help departments monitor annual expenditures.
