Position Overview Job Title: Investment Banking: Financial Institutions Group- Debt Capital Markets Corporate Title: Associate-Vice President Location: New York, NY Overview: Our Investment Banking & Capital Markets business provides the full range of investment banking products and services for large-cap and mid-cap corporates and financial sponsors. Our product offering to our clients consists of comprehensive financial advisory and capital raising services, including mergers & acquisitions (M&A), underpinned by one of the world's largest and most successful global debt and equity capital markets platforms. Our range of services and strong global presence enables us to complete large, multi-dimensional cross-border, and regional transactions. You will be joining the Financial Institutions Group, Debt Capital Markets Team, within Investment Banking & Capital Markets. You will have responsibility for supporting the origination of fixed income transactions, providing market and execution advice to North American Financial Institution clients. The DCM business covers a range liability types ranging from secured and senior debt to preferred stock, and advises clients on issuance opportunities across global markets and currencies (USD, EUR, GBP, AUD, etc) What We Offer You: A diverse and inclusive environment that embraces change, innovation, and collaboration. A hybrid working model, allowing for in-office / work from home flexibility, generous vacation, personal and volunteer days Employee Resource Groups support an inclusive workplace for everyone and promote community engagement Competitive compensation packages including health and wellbeing benefits, retirement savings plans, parental leave, and family building benefits Educational resources, matching gift and volunteer programs What You’ll Do: Originate, structure and lead the execution of IG debt transactions in coordination with senior originators Preparation of market updates, pricing and client pitch material Develop and maintain detailed knowledge of debt markets, FIG sector financing activity and client developments Effectively communicate pertinent market and business information to clients and colleagues Build and manage client relationships through active client dialogue clients (phone, writing, meetings), to understand and meet their needs Engage with colleagues across DCM, syndicate, sales, trading and banking to identify themes and opportunities relevant to client coverage How You’ll Lead: Develop and cultivate strong client relationships Work collaboratively with other parts of the bank to offer multiple products and solutions to clients Identify issues, gaps and process improvements through open communication both internally and with other bank areas, and through the monitoring of productivity against benchmarks Ensure that bank policies and guidelines applicable to the division are complied with to ensure that risk is appropriately mitigated Skills You’ll Need: Significant network and experience within the arena with extensive, product and market knowledge Strong technical and academic background Relevant experience (Debt Capital Markets, Investment Banking, Credit Markets preferable) Strong interest in career progression within Debt Capital Markets Experience in market trend interpretation Skills That Will Help You Excel: Excellent communication skills, both written and spoken A strategic thinker with the ability to understand broad business issues, their potential implications and to make sound business recommendations Dynamic, agile, highly motivated. Able to navigate, adapt and thrive in a constantly changing/evolving global bank Working knowledge of the Bloomberg Expectations: It is the Bank’s expectation that employees hired into this role work in person in the New York, NY office. The salary range for this position in New York City is $110,000 to $225,000. Actual salaries may be based on a number of factors including, but not limited to, a candidate’s skill set, experience, education, work location and other qualifications.
