CEMAX LLC is a historic restoration and construction company specializing in high-end residential and commercial restoration projects throughout the St. Louis area. Our work includes historic restoration, exterior envelope repairs, custom carpentry, roofing, masonry, water damage restoration, structural repairs, and specialty construction projects. Position Overview As a Finish Carpenter / Installer at CEMAX, you will be responsible for performing high-quality interior and exterior carpentry work across a wide range of restoration and construction projects. This role requires someone who is highly skilled, detail-oriented, dependable, and capable of working independently with minimal supervision while also collaborating with crews when needed. This is not an entry-level labor position. We are looking for someone who understands construction, takes initiative, and can consistently deliver professional-quality work. Responsibilities Perform finish carpentry including trim installation, cabinet installation, door hanging, framing, siding, soffit, fascia, and custom carpentry work Complete both interior and exterior carpentry tasks to a high standard of quality Read and interpret blueprints, drawings, and project scopes Perform restoration-related work involving historic structures, water damage, structural repairs, and refinishing Install fixtures, hardware, flooring, drywall, and specialty finish materials Work safely at heights on scaffolding, ladders, roofs, and elevated work platforms Operate hand tools and power tools safely and efficiently Work independently without constant supervision while maintaining productivity and quality standards Collaborate with other carpenters, laborers, project managers, and subcontractors when necessary Maintain clean and organized job sites Adapt to changing project conditions and solve problems in the field Requirements Proven experience in finish carpentry and general construction Must be proficient in all aspects of interior and exterior carpentry Must have your own basic hand tools Must not be afraid of heights Ability to work on ladders, scaffolding, and roofs safely Ability to work independently and manage tasks without supervision Strong attention to detail and craftsmanship Reliable transportation to and from job sites Ability to lift heavy materials and work in physically demanding environments Strong communication and teamwork skills Experience with restoration, historic construction, roofing, siding, or specialty carpentry is a plus What We Provide Company-provided major equipment, specialty tools, scaffolding, lifts, and materials Opportunity to work on unique historic restoration and high-end construction projects Supportive team environment with room for growth Competitive pay based on experience and skill level If you are someone who takes pride in quality craftsmanship and wants to work on projects that stand out from typical construction work, we encourage you to apply.
