Requisition ID: 165905 Position Summary Responsible for installation, repairs, and modifications to fire alarm and detection systems in full compliance with all applicable codes, as well as industry and company and company standards. Experience Level Experienced Primary Responsibilities and Duties Install new systems and system components Inspect and test fire protection or fire detection systems to verify that such systems are installed in accordance with appropriate laws, codes, ordinances, regulations, and standards Identify corrective actions necessary to bring alarm and detection systems into compliance with applicable fire codes, laws, regulations, and standards, and explain these measures to property owners or their representatives Make modifications and/or repairs to existing alarm and detection systems Attend training classes to maintain current knowledge of fire codes, regulations, and alarm systems Respond to service calls for alarm and detection systems (may include emergency calls during non-standard working hours) Estimating sizes, distances, and quantities; or determining time, costs, resources, or materials needed to perform a work activity. Inspect subordinate's work for compliance with the contract plans and specifications, point out deficiencies and explain and take any corrective action needed. Qualifications High School Graduate or General Education Degree (GED) required Experience in Fire Protection/Life Safety industry Experience with fire detection systems including VESDA, FM200 and other gas extinguishing systems Knowledge of functions associated with testing of fire alarms, access control, a
