Job Description
POSITION OVERVIEW This position has a significant role in promoting responsible firearm ownership, safety, and usage through an engaged, honest and knowledgeable team effort.Instructors need to provide outstanding customer service that is dedicated to exceeding customer expectations through GlockStore training and courses.Job Description:Being a GlockStore Firearms Instructor requires a comprehensive knowledge of all types of firearms; appropriate shooting techniques and instruction methods; and the ability to perform inspection, and maintenance of firearms.This position is responsible for providing a safe and hands-on environment for firearms training including training on handguns, rifles and other firearms for customers and internal personnel.Personal or professional firearms experience is a must.Specific knowledge of Glock handguns is required.Responsibilities:Provides personal firearms instruction to customers, staff and others, including beginner, remedial and advanced instruction.Assesses the customer's experience level and provides safe instruction based on their specific needs and capabilities.Works with manager and upper management to develop lesson plans and training sessions for firearms instruction.Incorporates new and advanced training aids into existing programs as appropriate.Operates, demonstrates, and provides instruction on a variety of firearms.Knows and follows all company safety rules.Maintains compliance with all involved government agencies including 4473 and background check processes.Ensures all firearms are cleared and completely empty before returning the firearm to the customer.Ensures all customers and anyone entering the range follows all safety policies.Routinely inspects range rental guns for routine maintenance/cleaning, and before each lesson.Sends to gunsmith for repair when necessary.Cleans, maintains, and repairs range equipment.This includes, but is not limited to cleaning range floor, cleaning tables, taking out used cardboard targets and trash, changing encapsulator blocks, keeping range organized, etc.Sets up and breaks down ranges for individual customers, competitions, events such as special parties, USPSA, lowlight, etc.Designs courses of fire for competitions.Uses time wisely by cleaning.Stocks ranges with supplies like targets/target backers and staples.Notifies Manager when supplies are low.Works in the retail store when not actively involved in Range duties.Remains current with new methods of range training and operations.Stays current on firearms maintenance and firearms training and other requirements.Maintains safety and compliance at all times and acts as a role model for other staff and customers.Other duties as assigned.Requirements:Education:High School diploma or GED required.Experience:4 or more years of work experience with specialized training in firearms use/safety and firearms maintenance/repair required.Military and law enforcement experience is a plus.Firearms Instructor or Range Officer certifications preferred.Functional competencies:Attention to detail, accuracy, written and verbal communication skills, intermediate math skills - adding, dividing, multiplying, subtracting and basic algebra and geometry, cooperation, teamwork, critical thinking, problem solving, initiative, positive attitude, attendance.Job Type:Full-time Pay:From $20.00 per hour Benefits:Dental insurance Employee discount Health insurance Life insurance Paid time off Vision insurance Experience:firearms:4 years (Required) License/Certification:firearms instructor certification (Required) Ability to Commute:Nashville, TN 37210 (Required) Ability to Relocate:Nashville, TN 37210:Relocate before starting work (Required) Work Location:In person.
