This Position is Subject to Contract Award JANUS Research Group is currently seeking a Fires Division SSO for a contract to support the Deputy Chief of Staff (DCS, G8. The DCS G-8 is the principal military advisor to the Chief of Staff, Army (CSA) and the Assistant Secretary of the Army, Financial Management and Comptroller (ASA(FMC)) for the Programming phase of the Planning, Programming, Budgeting, and Execution (PPBE) process. The DCS, G-8 coordinates with the Assistant Secretary of the Army, Acquisition, Logistics, and Technology (ASA(ALT)) on all proposed programming and process recommendations related to ongoing and future acquisition programs and science and technology initiatives. The DCS, G-8 coordinates with Army Futures Command (AFC) for program funding for all elements of the future force materiel modernization enterprise. Position Description: Supports Army Fires and Air and Missile Defense programs, including long-range artillery, SHORAD, BMDS, and directed energy systems. Provides analytical and technical expertise for capability development, SPAR, and POM integration. Prepares information papers, briefings, and program assessments addressing performance, cost, and modernization impacts. Coordinates with ASA(ALT), T2COM, and ARSTAF to align Fires modernization with Joint and Army priorities. Relevant Competencies / Skill Levels: A Bachelor's Degree in Engineering and/or Business A minimum of four (4) years of experience and expertise in Force Development duties Must have doctrinal, a foundational level of operational, and technical expertise with Army Air and Missile Defense or Army Fire Support units, programs, CONOPS and capabilities.
